AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D CPU Launch Information

Are you ready? The new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D & 9900X3D will hit our shelves and online carts tomorrow, 3/12! They will be available for standalone sale.

• Online shipping orders: March 12, 6AM PST
• In-store orders: March 12, 10AM PST (9AM for San Francisco location)

Here is our current availability information:

• • CPUs will be available for purchase online at 6:00 AM PT and 10:00 AM (9:00 AM for San Francisco location) in-store
• • Ryzen 9 9900X3D will be available in-store by Wednesday 4PM
• • We will have certain stock allocated for online sales, so if we are sold out online, there still might be a chance we will have it in stores
• • Limit of one (1) per customer
• • First come, first serve, no holds or reservations

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D will be available on launch day. We will have Retail (Boxed) SKUs for launch day, and will receive some OEM/Tray units the day after.

To summarize, Retail CPUs are the SKUs that come in boxes. They have a 3-year manufacturer warranty. On the other hand, OEM CPUs are the same chip, but they are shipped in bulk trays instead of boxes at a slightly cheaper unit cost. We pack them into individual clamshells so that we can sell them to retail customers. The main difference, other than the lack of a box, is that their warranty is handled through the seller (Central Computers).

Most models of the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT use 2x8-pin connectors, but it's important to note that certain models do use the newer 12VHPWR 16-pin connector. We highly recommend using ATX 3.1 PSUs with 12VHPWR 16-pin Power Cables to power your GPU if it uses a 12VHPWR 16-pin connection.

When are the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D CPUs launching?

The official launch date is March 12 (Wednesday) at 6AM PST. 

Please note that our physical store does not open until the typical opening time listed here. Our 6AM launch is just for the website.

Will Central Computers have any stock on launch day?

Yes! We will have some CPUs available for sale online on launch day. We will reserve a large portion for our local in-store customers if you miss the online launch.

Questions Regarding Purchase Policy

Can I pre-order the Ryzen 9 9950X3D or 9900X3D?

At this time, pre-orders are not available. However, you can sign up for stock alerts to be notified as soon as they go live.

Is there a purchase limit per customer?

We will be limiting purchases to 1 per customer for the time being.

Questions Regarding Compatibility/Technical Info

Will the Ryzen 9 9950X3D/9900X3D work on my current motherboard?

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D are only supported on the following motherboard chipsets: A620, X670E, x670, B650E, X870E, X870, B840, and B850.

If you have an older A620, B650, B650E, X670, or X670E motherboard, you may need a BIOS update for the CPU to post. We recommend performing this update, or having one performed by us at Central Computers, before installing your brand new 9950X3D/9900X3D CPU. 

Questions Regarding Returns & Warranty

Can I return a Ryzen 9 9950X3D/9900X3D?

CPUs can be returned within 14 days of purchase, but keep in mind that opened CPUs will incur a 15% restocking fee. Returns must include all original packaging, manuals, and accessories.

What if my CPU is defective?

Any CPUs that are proven to be defective within 30 days of purchase will be replaced with the same model. After 30 days, warranty claims must be handled by the customer through the manufacturer. 

Do you cover compatibility issues for returns?

No, compatibility issues are not covered under our return policy. Please ensure your system meets the CPU's hardware requirements before purchasing. If you have any concerns or questions regarding compatibility with your current system, feel free to inquire with your local store locations' sales department, and make sure to have your PC part list ready for them to review with you!
